A Statement From Our Pastor

Pastor Timothy H. Bullock

I am deeply honored and profoundly humbled by the call God has placed upon my life to serve as the Pastor of Woods Memorial Baptist Church. This sacred appointment is not a promotion-it is a divine commissioning. It is a reaffirmation of the purpose, the calling, and the fire God has kindled in my soul: to preach the unadulterated Gospel, to shepherd with compassion, and to lead with integrity and vision.

I give all glory to God, who in His divine providence and infinite wisdom has orchestrated this moment-not for my name to be lifted, but that His name may be magnified in the earth through the work of this ministry. I come not with easy answers or empty promises, but with a surrendered heart, a listening ear, and a burning commitment to labor in love with you.

As God leads me, I will stand at the sacred desk to declare the Word with power and conviction. I will walk with you through valleys and mountaintops. I will be your shepherd in seasons of joy and sorrow, as a watchman on the wall, and as a servant in the vineyard.

I ask that you cover me in prayer, even as I continue to intercede for you. For no pastor can carry the weight of this mantle alone. With God's strength and your faithfulness, we will build, we will plant, we will restore, and we will rise.

Stand with me in unity. Pray without ceasing. Serve with gladness. Worship with reverence. And expect miracles, because God has already given us the victory!

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Together, we are pressing forward into the purpose and promise of God. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

GET TO KNOW OUR PASTOR

My name is Reverend Timothy Harold Bullock. I was born on August 17, 1985, in Detroit, Michigan. My Christian commitment and growth began at an early age.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of five and became a member of Bethany Baptist Church. I was baptized shortly thereafter and received my education at Bethany Baptist Educational Center, a school with a Baptist Christian-based curriculum. My spiritual growth was continuous and steadfast, as my father, Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Bullock Jr., was the pastor of my church, and my mother, Joan Bullock, was theprincipal of the Christian school I attended.

As time went on, life introduced many challenges that tested my commitment and faith in God. I lost my mother to breast cancer at the tender age of eight. This spawned immense grief and made me painfully aware of how cruel and harsh life can be. However, this newfound awareness did not cause

my faith to wane or falter. Instead, I wholeheartedly acknowledged the power and presence of God in my life. With the Holy Spirit as my guide, I was able to navigate through my emotions of sadness and despair.

I accepted the call to the ministry at the age of nine. I preached my trial sermon, titled “Broken Down Altars,” in front of the congregation. The sermon wasn’t very long, but its theme, derived from the Holy Scripture in 1 Kings 18, signified a turning point in my journey as a believer in Jesus Christ. I knew that no matter how broken down one may be, God will hear them and show that He is the One

True God. My first sermon and my life, as a whole, were and still are testimonies that bear witness to the reality and goodness of God.

After graduating high school from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, I attended Morehouse College, where I received my BA in Philosophy and Religion. During my time at Morehouse, I held weekly Bible studies on the AUC campus, where my peers would gather every

Tuesday to hear the Word of God and receive a fresh and resonant delivery of the message that could be applied to their daily lives. I also participated in the Chapel Assistants Program under Dr. Lawrence E. Carter Sr., Dean of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College.

With the support and mentorship of the late Pastor Tony Mosley, I became a “Son of Woods.” Since his passing, I have been part of a rotation of ministers who preach at the church once every month.

This rotation began in March 2023 and continues to this day. After an examination of my Christian experience, call to the ministry, and views on Bible doctrine, I became an ordained minister of the

Gospel. I also participate in the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) program, representing the State of

Georgia. GOTV is a faith-based initiative developed to encourage parishioners to vote and combat voter intimidation through prayer lines, forums, rallies, and volunteer recruitment.
